Abstract Tightening noose on engine emission norms compelled manufacturers globally to design engines with low specially NO x and soot without compromising their performance. Amongst various parameters, shape of piston bowls, injection pressure nozzle diameter are known have significant influence over the thermal performance emanating from engine. This paper investigates combined effect fuel parameters such as at which is injected size along bowl Numerical simulation carried out using one cylinder naturally aspirated diesel AVL FIRE commercial code. Three geometries bowls different tumble swirl characteristics considered while maintaining volume bowl, compression ratio, speed mass constant equal number variations for pressures this analysis. The investigation corroborates that high large turbulence kinetic energy (TKE) crucial better combustion.
